Sea View Mews is close to the centre of the small coastal village of Reighton. Reighton has a very old church which has regular services, an excellent coastal bus service which takes you to Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough and further afield, a village hall which has regular events such as craft fairs and a modern children's playground, an amazing Garden Centre and Nursery and a couple of pubs within walking distance. A couple of miles away is the larger village of Hunmanby which has several churches, plenty of pubs, an excellent fish and chip shop, shops, dentists, doctors, sports facilities and a very active community centre. Further north along the coastal road, Filey has a lot to offer with gorgeous Georgian architecture, a sandy beach, cobbled landing, country park, supermarkets, visitors centre, churches and sports facilities. Driving south towards Flamborough, which has the annual New Year Fire Festival and gorgeous coves to explore, is Bempton and the famous RSPB reserve on the cliffs. A visit to see all the sea birds, including puffins, gannets, razorbills, kittiwakes and guillemots and the dramatic coastal scenery is an absolute must!
Scarborough is a 15 minute drive away and Bridlington a ten minute drive away in a southerly direction if larger supermarkets are required. Bridlington Spa Theatre is to be recommended for its wonderful position next to the beach, for lovely meals and great entertainment. Scarborough has its own Spa Theatre with plenty to offer and the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough has its very own playwright and director Sir Alan Ayckbourn who often sits with the audience to view his plays!
